WHEELING, WV, June 23 — The 37th day of the Seton Route of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage was an unforgettable day, one part of which was a five-hour boat ride with Jesus on the Ohio River.
It was organized by The Wheeling-Charleston and Steubenville dioceses in collaboration with the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage. Bishop Mark Brennan, Bishop of Wheeling-Charleston, Bishop Edward Lohse, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Steubenville and Bishop of Kalamazoo, jointly presided.
The Boat Procession took place on a sternwheeler that departing at noon from the Steubenville Marina and disembarked at Bellaire Marina at 5:30 pm. Along the way, the bishops imparted benedictions at Wellsburg Wharf, the Wellsburg-Brilliant Bridge, Mazeroski Park, Pike Island Lock/Dam, and Heritage Port (in Wheeling).
Since members of the media were not on the boat due to space and prayer considerations, Seton Pilgrims took turns taking some photos and videos so that people who were not present with us might experience a little of the grace of what it was like.
